Internships
The internship is a period of training aimed at students during their university studies (curricular internship), recent graduates within 12 months of obtaining the degree (extracurricular internship) and graduates in a state of unemployment (internship / job placement). The period of training is spent at companies and public institutions which have subscribed an agreement with the University. Internship may be required by the regulations of the degree course, or it may be carried out on a voluntary basis.
The internship can have a maximum duration of 12 months for students and 6 months for recent graduates.
An internship involves three subjects: the intern, the promoter (the University of Padua) and the host (the company or public institution). The university tutor, usually a teacher from the University, and the company tutor (not necessarily the same as the legal representative) guide and follow the trainees in the performance of their duties.
The University of Padua, through its Career Service Unit, deals with students and new graduates in their transition from the academic world to the professional world.
The "Vetrina degli Stages" help students and new graduates to look for internships and training opportunities. A list of the associated firms is available for subscribers, who can decide whether the job description corresponds to their job aims.
