2019 Summer Diplomatic Academy

July 15–26, 2019

Washington, DC

The 2019 Summer Diplomatic Academy is run by the Washington International Diplomatic Academy (WIDA), an independent educational institution dedicated to strengthening global diplomacy.

The Summer Diplomatic Academy is a practical training program that helps prepare undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates for careers in international diplomacy. It introduces them to the fundamentals of diplomatic practice and focuses on real-life aspects of work in national and local governments, embassies and consulates, international organizations and multinational businesses. The material emphasizes a skills-based and experiential learning approach, and is generally not offered at colleges and universities. The program also includes career-counseling sessions. Participants receive certificates from the Academy.

This year a limited number of scholarships of up to $1,000 will be offered to selected students. Applicants are required to inform Prof. Elena Pariotti, Head of the Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies at the University of Padova about their intention to ask for the scholarship, and to send her their cv and a motivation letter.
