Scholars at Risk @Unipd Advocacy Day 2026

The Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies (SPGI) of the University of Padua will host the Scholars at Risk @Unipd Advocacy Day 2026 on Friday, 12 June 2026, a day dedicated to promoting academic freedom and supporting scholars and students at risk.

Academic Freedom in Motion: Belarus, Palestine, Iran. Towards a National Program for At-Risk Students will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Aula M, Palazzo Wollemborg (via del Santo 26, Padua).

It will provide an opportunity for reflection and discussion on the challenges facing academic freedom in different international contexts, with a particular focus on Belarus, Iran and Palestine.

The event will also be available also on line, via Zoom, upon registration.

The day will continue at 7:00 p.m. at the Botanical Garden of Padua with the Academic Freedom Advocacy Walk, a guided initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of academic freedom.
