Laboratory on the Right to Housing
MASTER’S DEGREE IN HUMAN RIGHTS AND MULTILEVEL GOVERNANCE - A.Y. 2025-26
Laboratory on the Right to Housing
Mapping and tracing forced evictions in Athens and the former Clark airbase, the Philippines
The Laboratory aims to establish an exchange between students and activists/experts involved in supporting communities affected by forced evictions or similar attacks on the right to housing, namely the Aeta community in Sapang Kawayan, near the former Clark Air Base, the Philippines, and residents of the Prosfygika neighborhoods in Athens. Based on a joint assessment of the respective community needs, students will develop impactful projects.
The laboratory provides students with methodological and technical skills for investigating and documenting potential violations of housing rights and for applying monitoring techniques in the targeted contexts. It includes a short series of seminars with academics and experts who share their expertise in using technology, networking and people diplomacy to protect and promote the right to housing.
The project is based on a cooperation with the International Alliance of Inhabitants (IAI), and is part of the Zero Evictions Marathon project.
