Lecture | Impermanences Tractatus
Aula M, Dipartimento SPGI
05.12.2025
Scientific coordinator: Francesca Helm, University of Padova.
Within the Course English for Intercultural Communication (MA RID) the Lecture Impermanences Tractatus will be held on 5 December 2025 at 9:00 (Room M, Wollemborg, via del Santo 26).
Through the Impermanences Tractatus, the New-Territories installation at the 2025 Venice Biennale, f.Roche_S/he will unfold a part of their practices and research, principally the ones dedicated to alchemy, chemistry, transmigration of substances, where architecture is developed as a paradigm of ex-changes, of co-relation, between animal, vegetal, human and subjectivities.
In Venice, this took the form of a small, experimental shelter with an ephemeral existence — an intuition of a prototype that appears as a footprint or screenshot of our decaying 'Pandora' situation: a soluble artefact made from spirulina algae and corn... (from NPK industrial polluting agriculture), where pectin, glucose and starch are extracted and metabolised for yarn and pellets by a knitting membrane using CNC computing. This membrane is kept in a state of disequilibrium by a fragile starch structure using robotic process.
BIO
f.Roche_S/he are fugitive French born doppelgangers architects whose work explores the intersection of architecture, biology, and philosophy, often questioning the boundaries between the natural and the artificial, developing a pathology a bio-cyberpunk. Through their research platform New-Territories, they investigate how architecture can embody uncertainty, transformation, and the complexities of human existence and lines of escape. f.Roche acts as the personal secretary and authorized voice of S/he, the androgynous, trans-gender avatar who fronts New-Territories as the operator of subversive apparatuses and artefacts.
