We inform you that the on line seminar The Italian Recovery Programme. The great binge will be held on Wednesday 24 January 2024 at 17:00 via the Zoom platform.

The seminar is co-organised by Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (European University Institute), CONGRIPS (Conference Group on Italian Politics and Society) and SISP (Società Italiana di Scienza Politica).

Speakers: Tito Boeri, Professor and Head of Economics Departments at Bocconi University in Milan, Roberto Perotti, Professor of Economics at Bocconi University in Milan, Manuela Moschella, Associate Professor of International Political Economy at Scuola Normale Superiore and Laura Polverari, Associate Professor in Political Science at the University of Padua.

The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) is based on a bet: borrow money that you will be able to spend and thus get the economy moving again. The Italian version of the bet, on the other hand, seemed more like a big binge: take as much money as you can, then wait and see. Now that the numbers don't add up, what to do?
