Workshop | Responses to the social crisis of Europe: Regulation, Redistribution, Coordination

Aula B1, Dipartimento SPGI

Dal 15.05.2025 al 16.05.2025

Scientific coordinators: Igor Guardiancich (University of Padova) and Marcello Natili (University of Milan).

The inaugural Workshop NESPOL (Network of European Social Policy Experts) will be held on 15-16 May 2025 at the SPGI Department (Room B1, Ca’ Borin, via del Santo 22).

The event will analyse the EU response to the European Social Crisis and will bring together Italian and international scholars to discuss the future of social Europe, assessing its successes and challenges.

It will contribute to the debate on European social and labour policies and their role in social cohesion and political stability. Three panels will examine how European institutions have addressed the CES through regulation, redistributive funds and policy coordination. A closing session will draw conclusions and outline the future perspectives of NEPOLS.

The workshop is a part of the Project SOLID, Policy Crisis and Crisis Politics. Sovereignty, Solidarity and identity, in the Eu post 2008, financed by European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation.
