Writing Screenplays, Stage Plays, and Comics to Tell a Science Story

 

Within the MA EGOS - European and Global Studies and the Course of International History of Science and Technology, the cross-disciplinary laboratory with Dr. Emanuela Agostini (playwright) will be held on 23 and 24 October 2023 in Room A (Ca' Dottori, via del Santo 28) from 15:00 to 18:45.

Aimed at experimenting with the possibility of using writing for documentary films, theatre, comics to communicate the multiple interactions between science, technology and foreign policy, the laboratory is dedicated to students of International History of Science and Technology. However, it is also possible for students of other courses to participate. Please contact as soon as possible the course teacher, David Burigana (david.burigana@unipd.it).


Emanuela Agostini, Ph.D. in History of Performing Arts (University of Florence), teaches at ISI Florence. She is author of essays (Il Bergamasco in commedia, Bergamo 2012), reviews, and plays. On the occasion of the University of Padua’s 800 th Anniversary, she wrote Bepi Colombo. Il pescatore di stelle about the Italian mathematician whose contribution changed Space travels. She is currently working on a docufiction on Space activities.
